But first, we're kicking off the show with some deep southern blues as interpreted by a cool Canadian: Michael Jerome Browne. A three-time Juno nominee, considered to be a walking encyclopedia of the music of the Deep South, Michael will be heating up Irene's on Wednesday, January 21. His new album, Sliding Delta, is a tribute to the artists who first ignited his passion for their sound, eg, Mississippi John Hurt, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charlie Patton and others.
All the fun starts at 5 pm on Friday at 89.1 on your FM dial in Ottawa. You can also listen on-line at CHUO.fm or on iTunes radio (filed under college stations) and on Rogers HD channel 943.
