Papermaps
New album, Darker Lights to be released October 8. With a new line-up, the band is delving into sonic textures through minimalist techniques. Call it shoegaze if you like. I call it dreamy. They are performing Saturday at the Avant Garde bar in Ottawa.
Ghost Cousin
Debut full-length album, Scotland, was recorded in a cavernous old McDougall United Church in Edmonton. It is filled with rich tones and compelling melodies both intimate and dynamic. The band will be in Ottawa on Monday night at Mugshots.
