It is late August in Ottawa already. That used to mean summer was almost over. But not this year. Apart from the current heatwave, summer music festivals are far from over. This weekend you can take in some amazing indie-pop at Arboretum or you can make your way to Wakefield for some arts, music, film and music at Wakefest. You can even head out to Finch, Ontario to take in some indie-folk-country at Barnstorm. Never a dull moment!
Today on Hop The Fence, I will be chatting with Braids. Their new album, Deep In The Iris, is a mellifluous work of art which has earned them a spot on the Polaris Music Prize short list (just as their debut album did in 2011). They are playing tonight at Arboretum on Albert Island.
