Festival Round-up

The past few weeks have been exciting in terms of the number of live shows in Ottawa. It all started with the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival followed by the RBC Ottawa Bluesfest and a few others in between. I'm barely still standing but it has been a great ride!

Concert highlights at Jazz Fest: Aretha Franklin, Earth, Wind and Fire, Richa Sharma (I got some dancing lessons!), Kathleen Edwards (with special guests her niece and nephew), The Peptides, the incomparable Cold Specs!!

Concert highlights at Bluesfest: the AMAZING St. Vincent!!, Gary Clark Jr., the crazy Gogol Bordello!, Bad Bad Not Good, Lady Gaga, Blondie, Snoop Dog/Lion (got best seats in the house backstage for a couple of smoke filled tunes!), Beth Hart, Mac DeMarco (shortlisted for Polaris Prize)... and too many more to mention.

My concert injuries: Sprained right foot, broken toe on left foot, lower back destruction!

Twitter stats during Bluesfest: 4,500 views! Over 25 Favorites and more Retweets!  15 new followers.

And it ain't over yet. There are more festivals in Ottawa over the coming weeks. Brace yourselves!
